St. Catharines
St. Catharines is the largest city and the hub of the Niagara region. Also known as "The Garden City," St. Catharines is renowned for its lush parks, gardens, lakefront and trails.
Where do we start!?
There are so many things to do in this city from touring the local wineries, enjoying the various dining options, experiencing the wonderful festivals and vibrant nightlife, or exploring the city's history and picturesque harbour front village of Port Dalhousie.
The downtown core has seen a revitalization in recent years with the 2 largest additions being the Meridian Centre and the First Ontario Performing Arts Centre. With those venues, numerous restaurants, cafes, pubs, studios and charming retail outlets have popped up as well. It has really become a destination where on any given night you can have the OHL Niagara Ice Dogs playing a game at the Meridian Centre while a concert is happening at the PAC.
The city is also home to part of the Welland Canal, one of the world's greatest engineering feats, where enormous freighters climb the Niagara Escarpment on a stairway of water. It’s quite the sight to see!
If you like waterfront, you’ll love St.Catharines. There are pathways scattered throughout the city that travel along the various waterways which flow to Lake Ontario where you’ll also find the beautiful waterfront trail system. Hop on your bike, go for a run or take a sunset stroll with a friend. It’s all there waiting for you.
