Thorold
Located just south of St. Catharines, this community is full of proud residents, nature trails, parks, playgrounds, and marine heritage. On a daily schedule you can see the boats travelling through Lock 7 of the Welland Canal. Here, you’ll also find the longest underwater tunnel in Ontario known as Thorold Tunnel, is constructed late 1960s enabling thousands of vehicles to cross the Welland Canal. Enjoy walks or bike rides along the Welland canal with the paved recreational trail. There are plenty of other notable sites in Thorold such as Morningstar Mill, Decew Falls and Short Hills Provincial Park.
